Dental Implants

A full arch of teeth, often in one day

All-on-X — often called All-on-4 or All-on-6 — replaces an entire upper or lower arch of teeth with a fixed bridge secured to four or six implants. Because the case is planned digitally in advance, many patients leave their surgical appointment in Titusville with a set of fixed teeth the same day.

What All-on-X is

All-on-X is a full-mouth implant approach that secures a complete arch of teeth — upper, lower or both — on just four or six implants. The “X” simply reflects the number of implants your case requires.

Instead of an implant for every missing tooth, a small number of carefully positioned implants support a single fixed bridge. It is designed for people with missing or severely damaged teeth who want a long-lasting replacement that stays in place and doesn’t come out at night.

Why it can work when bone is limited

All-on-X, also known as “Teeth in a Day,” is often considered for patients with significant tooth loss, periodontal (gum) disease or extensive decay. It can be particularly helpful when jawbone volume has decreased to the point that individual implants would be difficult.

The front implants are placed in the denser bone toward the front of the jaw, and the back implants are angled to avoid the sinus cavities in the upper jaw and the nerve canal in the lower jaw. Making the most of the bone you already have may reduce the need for grafting, although your dentist will tell you whether grafting is still advisable in your case.

Careful planning comes first

A predictable full-arch result depends on understanding your anatomy in detail. A CBCT 3D scan shows bone volume, density and the position of nerves and sinuses, while intraoral scans record your teeth, gums and bite digitally.

From these records your case is planned on screen: implant positions and angles are chosen, a surgical guide is created, and your new teeth are prepared before the day of surgery. This preparation is what makes same-day teeth possible.

Same-day teeth and your final bridge

On the day of surgery, any remaining failing teeth are removed, the implants are placed and a fixed set of teeth is attached. You leave with teeth that stay in place — not a removable denture.

Implants still need time to bond with the bone. During that healing period you’ll follow a softer diet and attend follow-up visits, and your dentist will explain if and when a final bridge will be made once healing is complete.

Benefits

Why patients choose All-on-X Teeth in a Day

01

Fixed teeth, often the same day

Because your teeth are prepared in advance, many patients leave their surgical visit with a fixed arch rather than waiting months without teeth.

02

Long-lasting and non-removable

The bridge is secured to implants and is designed as a durable, long-term replacement you don’t take out at night.

03

Uses the bone you already have

Angled rear implants make use of denser bone and may reduce the need for separate grafting procedures.

04

A smoother experience through planning

Digital planning and a surgical guide help the procedure go efficiently, and patients often report less discomfort than they expected.

Questions

All-on-X Teeth in a Day, answered

Will I really leave with teeth on the same day?

In many cases, yes — that is the purpose of planning the case and preparing your teeth in advance. Whether same-day teeth are right for you depends on bone quality and implant stability at surgery, which your dentist will discuss beforehand.

What is the difference between All-on-4 and All-on-6?

The number refers to how many implants support the arch. Your dentist recommends four or six based on bone volume, bite forces and the shape of your jaw, as seen on your CBCT scan.

Do I need bone grafting for All-on-X?

Not always. Angling the rear implants into denser bone often reduces the need for grafting, but some patients still benefit from it; your 3D scan will show which applies to you.

How do I care for an All-on-X bridge?

You brush it daily like natural teeth and clean underneath it with the tools your hygienist recommends, such as a water flosser. Regular checkups and professional cleanings are important to protect the gums and implants.

Can I use insurance or financing?

Insurance benefits for full-arch implants vary by plan, and we’ll help you check yours — we are in network with Delta Dental PPO, DHA, Cigna and GEHA. CareCredit and Cherry financing can also help make treatment manageable.
